Mark your calendars and grab your yarn and needles, it’s time for another Knit Simple Stitch.Rock.Knit-Along with our friend Vickie Howell!  This month, we’ll be making the Honeycomb Pompom Scarf, a long, super cozy knit scarf topped off with faux fur pompoms! It’s the perfect cold-weather accessory to keep you warm without sacrificing on style.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this gorgeous scarf:

4 skeins of Bernat Viva in your favorite shade (Vickie’s scarf uses Burgundy)
1 pair of US Size 15 Knitting Needles
1 Cable Needle
2 Bernat Faux Fur Pompoms in your favorite shade (Vickie’s scarf uses Brown Muskrat)

    I love to do scarves. I am working one now that is a flame pattern, designed by my local yarn shop. I also love to do lace knits. I think they are beautiful.

  23. I love to knit sweaters, even though they take a long time to make. My first big project was a sweater that took me a year and a half to knit, but it is the warmest comfiest sweater I own!

  25. My favorite holiday projects are both knitting and crocheting ponchos, scarves, and afghans! Everyone absolutely loves the thought and effort in my homemade gifts!

Sure would also be nice to give the momma-to-be a nice scarf before then, though. Just to let her know, that in the excitement, we haven’t forgotten her too.

  34. I crochet slippers for my 3rd graders for Christmas each year. I also found a pattern for the cutest little reindeer to make for neighbors this year.

    Love making warm but very cute sweaters for my great nieces. Then they think of me whenever they wear them and it is like getting a warm hug from me!

  47. My favorite this year is cowls. I can’t get enough of them! I made many for friends and for customers. I have also worked on making doll clothes and accessories for my lil neighbor girl’s American Girl doll.

    For this Christmas, it’s baby stuff — my daughter is expecting in January. After that, maybe a cowl to survive the rest of the winter!

    My favorite items to knit in winter are hats and mitts/ mittens. Then perhaps a scarf to match! My newest skill I learned is working on 4 needles so would love to learn to make socks.

  120. I make all sorts of things for Christmas presents – hats, coats, sweaters, scarves are real big this year with my 5 granddaughters and co-workers, slippers (the crocodile ones are a big hit). However, after Christmas, I like to make something for my home so I would say afghans are my favorite. That being said, I think scarves and hats could become my favorite if I had a pom-pom maker that could make then as nice as these pictures.

    I love making granny-square afghans! I’ve just finished making 3 child-size afghans for charity, and I plan to make a couple of “giant granny square” afghans (modified to minimize holes in the FO) as pet blankets this month for Snuggles Project.
