  1. Just did the first of the cable for the hat but after working the cable panel for the third time and doing k1 p1 twice like the pattern states I am left with six stitches on my needle what did I do wrong?

      Mil gracias

  3. I think there is something wonky in the written instructions for the fingerless gloves at the point where you start decreasing on both sides of the cuff……the repeat doesn’t say to work in the ch-1 spaces like the first half of the cuff. In the video Mikey doesn’t demonstrate that row but from his comments I think I know what to do.

  4. Love love love your website with all its great projects.
Have followed a few tutorials and find them very easy to follow along with. Thank you

  5. Hello Vickie,

I would like to knit the mittens because the pattern is so adorable but without making the seam at the edge. I’m an intermediate knitter who knits mittens with 4 needles, just plain knit stitch and I don’t have to sew the edge because I bind the wool at the beginning of the first row.The thumb gusset is also done at the end of having knitted the complete mitten. Would the pattern differ and IS IT POSSIBLE?

    Thank you for helping me,

    Francine Oskus

  6. How may I get a written pattern for these gloves.

  7. Wondering if there will be a tutorial video for each of the KAL weeks?!?
I’m working on the mittens (first time making a knit mitten) and as a newbie I’d really benefit from visual help.
Thank you for a the time you take to help :)

  8. Where did the button flower tutorial go? I went back to try to figure out how to get the pattern and video just disappeared! It is so neat. Can you help me find it? It is VERY late here, so maybe I am just too sleepy! Thanks for any help. I want to show my neighbor, too, but she doesn’ t have internet, so I have to print it for her.

  9. These look easy and fun. Will try them first thing tomorrow. Love the button flower idea! So creative. Not sure where the pattern for that is. Thank you.

  10. Hi Vickie, I think I understand the pattern now. I need to increase the stitches on a 1st row, after I complete the final 2nd row, so that when I change to larger needles I will be working that 1st row on the RS again. The purl row reversed the 1st row of the ribbing, which originally was a RS. Thanks, Anita

  11. Hi Vickie, I am a little confused about ending the cuff portion of the hat. The pattern says to end on a 2nd row and to increase 8 stitches evenly across the last row. I watched your video and I think you increase the stitches on a 1st row. Does this mean that I complete the 2nd row, then knit a 1st row and perform my increases on this row? Thanks! Anita

I think there is an error in the instructions regarding the 1st row for the body of the hat. The written instructions indicate a P1, and then work the 1st row of the cable pattern. Since the chart already has a P stitch shown on the right hand side, this would mean two Ps, which is not what is done in the video – also true for the end of the chart. I found when I followed the instructions as written (resulting in 2P at beginning and end of the cable pattern), I ran out of stitches before completing the row

  13. I have tried to watch The video by Vickie Howell and the camera is too close. All I can see is her left hand, no stitch work at all.

    • Hi Vickie – something went wrong while the video was processing – we’re working on getting a corrected version of the video. The video should not be so zoomed in. Sorry for the inconvenience, we will let you know when the new video is live! :)
